Dental Assistant

The Dental Assistant provides not only advanced technical assistance, but also provides a reassuring and pleasing experience for the patient. Chair side assistance to the Doctor includes preparation of treatment rooms, instruments and tray setups for dental procedures, technical assistance during examinations and treatments, and other services requested by the Doctor. This position is responsible for a wide range of tasks in the dental office, ranging from patient care to administrative duties to laboratory functions. Proficiency and a positive attitude are cornerstones of this position.

Essential Functions
  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments and tray setups for dental procedures.

  • Sterilize dental instruments and equipment for each patient.

  • Greet and prepares patients for treatment.

  • Expose and mount dental diagnostic x-rays.

  • Record medical and dental histories and vital signs of patient.

  • Make preliminary impressions.

  • Assist the doctor during examinations and treatment procedures.

  • Use suction and swabs to keep patients' mouths clear and dry during procedures.

  • Apply topical anesthetic & desensitizing agents, as directed by provider.

  • Removal of sutures and post-extraction.

  • Make temporary crowns.

  • Records treatment information in patient records.

  • Train patients in techniques of oral hygiene and prevention of oral disease.

  • Make patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment.

  • Schedule appointments, maintain records, send bills, answerphones, order supplies and other office tasks.

  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited dental assistant program.

  • State RDA license.

  • One year Dental Assistant experience.

  • Proficient computer and typing skills and software knowledge.

  • Working knowledge of Dentrix/Eaglesoft software.

Registered Dental Hygienist

The Dental Hygienist position provides dental hygiene care that not only provides proficiency in the technical aspects of dental care but also provides a thoughtful approach to educating patients about the importance of a healthy smile. This position puts patients at ease while practicing and performing excellent hygiene techniques including assessing oral health conditions, applying sealants and flourides, utilizing appropriate cleaning techniques, creating accurate impressions, taking and developing dental xrays and providing exceptional patient education. The Dental Hygienist also actively strives to ensure patient’s schedule appropriate follow up appointments.

Essential Functions
  • Screen and assess oral health conditions

  • Review the health history

  • Record dental charting, including probing’s for periodontal condition

  • Take and develop dental radiographs x-rays

  • Remove calculus and plaque hard and soft deposits from all surfaces of the teeth

  • Apply sealants and fluorides

  • Make impressions of patients´ teeth for study casts models of teeth used by dentists to evaluate patient treatment needs

  • Place and remove periodontal dressings

  • Prescribe, administer and dispense fluoride, fluoride varnish, antimicrobial solutions or resorbable antimicrobial agents

  • Teach patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health e.g., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling

  • Entering treatment plans into the computer

  • Presenting treatment to patients.

  • Order Patient Education Materials

  • Keep a calendar of all doctor and office activities.

  • Other duties as required

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree from approved Dental Hygiene program

  • Registered Dental Hygienist license

  • Preliminarily fit crowns to check contacts or to adjust occlusion outside the mouth

  • Place temporary restorative material

  • Place and remove matrix retainers for alloy and composite restorations

  • Polish amalgam or composite surfaces with a slow speed handpiece

  • Remove excess supragingival cement from crowns, bridges, bands or brackets with hand instruments providing that the patient is checked by a dentist after the procedure is performed

  • Fabricate temporary crowns, and temporarily cement the temporary crown. The cemented crown must be examined and approved by the dentist prior to the patient being released

  • Perform all aspects of teeth whitening procedures

  • Other duties as required

Dental Office Manager

The Office Manager is a key member and contributor to the success of the Practice. This position is responsible for guiding the dental practice team to achievement of productivity, financial and patient satisfaction goals. Through management of revenues, front office procedures and practices, marketing and promotional programs, team development and patient relations, this is a pivotal position that requires organization, positive interactions, willingness to assist with and/or direct a variety of responsibilities in the dental office, and excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.

Essential Functions
  • Achieves revenue goals by effectively managing patient scheduling, staff productivity, collections and receivables, specialty referral process, and miscellaneous operations expenses.

  • Manages office within budget guidelines to include clerical and auxiliary supply purchases, equipment upgrades, labs and labor costs.

  • Increases and stimulates new patient growth by supporting sales, marketing and promotional programs.

  • Responsible for recruitment, training, on-boarding, team development, retention, and performance management

  • Communicates with office teams regularly to ensure they have the information, tools, and support needed to perform their jobs effectively and successfully.

  • Completes administrative tasks, such as bank deposits, revenue posting, staff payroll and bonus, accounts receivable reports and invoice processing to meet deadlines.

  • Manages and assists designated office team members with appropriate payment and insurance processes

  • Ensures flawless execution of operational standards, including compliance with established company policies, procedures, and government regulations.

  • Responds to doctor, patient and employee grievances, complaints, and inquiries and seeks assistance when necessary.

Associate Dentist

The Associate Dentist provides dental care that includes diagnosis and treatment of oral diseases, development of treatment plans, education to patients on oral health and needs, and general dentistry services such as fillings, crowns, and other restorative services. This position puts patients at ease while practicing and performing excellent dental care techniques.

Essential Functions
  • Diagnose and assess oral health conditions

  • Examine patients, obtain medical history and develop treatment plan

  • Monitor patient progress and maintain treatment records

  • Provide instruction as needed to patients

  • Prescribe medications appropriately

  • Address clinical issues promptly and accurately

  • Analyze and evaluate x-rays

Front Office Assistant

Front Office Assistant creates the first impression and a lasting impression for each patient, whether in person or on the phone. This role greets patients, schedules appointments, answers phones, manages administrative records and financial records such as insurance billing and payments. Additionally, this position is responsible for the coordination for office routines and procedures as well as reminder calls about scheduled appointments, follow ups, or cleanings. The Front Office Assistant keeps the office organized and running smoothly and exhibits a positive countenance to every patient experience.

Essential Functions
  • Develops and maintains doctor/hygienist schedule to meet practice goals.

  • Responsible for answering incoming calls to include, new patient calls, emergencies, scheduling patient appointments, requesting records, and follow up.

  • Manage unscheduled list, asap list, treatment pending list, to ensure patient follow through to meet scheduling goals.

  • Greet and check patients in and out for and after treatment.

  • Educate and consult patients discussing treatment needs and presenting treatment plans.

  • Increase and stimulate new patient growth by supporting marketing and promotional programs, to include recall cards, continuing care calls, referral letters and gifts, and working with referrals.

  • Document patient dental treatments and financial transactions, to include signing of financial arrangements, prepayments for large cases, financing, and charges collection.

  • Make pre-treatment financial arrangements with patients.

  • Responsible for billing dental insurance, posting payments, and claim estimations.

  • Balance income and charges daily and prepare deposits.

  • Responsible for Accounts Receivable to include, sending of billing statements, aging reports, and collections.

  • Create month end reports and forecast monthly goals for the office and providers.

  • Follows office procedures for patient referrals.

  • Responds to doctor, patient and employee concerns and inquiries and seeks assistance when necessary.

  • General office duties and other duties as required.

Qualifications

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of Front Office Dental experience

  • Computer proficiency and the ability to learn new programs to include Microsoft Office Suite

  • Experience with Dentrix.
