Many of the measures we’ve outlined below go far and beyond any governmental guidelines and some are redundant in nature. We are proud to be offering our patients the cleanest environment possible. You are safe at Hood River Dental.

The Basics

PATIENT SYMPTOM SCREENING

Along with basic screening questions, oxygen levels and temperature are measured at check in. Anyone with a temperature higher than 100 will be asked to reschedule and monitor for additional symptoms.

SOCIAL DISTANCING MEASURES

In an effort to encourage physical distancing, we are scheduling in less dense concentrations. We are also offering video appointments, reducing visitors, minimizing overlapping appointments and encouraging vehicles as an alternative to the waiting room.

MINIMIZING SURFACE AREA EXPOSURE

We've gone through our offices with a strong attention to detail and have eliminated all unnecessary surfaces for better sterile protocols. If you touch a surface at Hood River Dental, you know it's clean.

PRIVATE ENTRANCE OPERATORY (Optional for at-risk patients)

For our high-risk patients or those with heightened anxiety around COVID-19, we are happy to make our operatory with a private entrance available for your treatment, eliminating any shared space with other patients.

Eliminating Aerosols by Neutralization

OZONATED WATER

Ozonated water cleans a patient's mouth* as we work. Measures to address air and surfaces, as outlined below are a redundancy due to using ozonated water to eliminate aerosols at the point of origin. Ozonated water is also used in health spas.

*Ozone kills pathogenic organisms 3500x faster than Chlorine, with no toxic side effects.

Eliminating Aerosols by Suction

ORAL SUCTION SYSTEMS

A combination of intra-oral and extra-oral suction systems are used at Hood River Dental to further ensure the elimination of aerosols during dental treatment. Oral suctions are designed to filter 99% of particles as small as 0.1 microns.

Eliminating Aerosols by Air Purification

HOCl DISINFECTANT

This unique oxidant is produced naturally by our body's white blood cells to destroy germs and protect the body. The active ingredient is a scientific formula created by HOCl, a weak acid much like citrus juice.

HEPA AIR ROOM SCRUBBERS

We use air room scrubbers to ensure that every breath you take is clean. This is a similar idea used by hospitals to create a negative pressure room to create ICU rooms with the purest air possible. Canada has already made this a requirement in dental offices.

IONIZATION HVAC SYSTEM

Integrated ino our HVAC system, this technology sterilizes the air and proactively takes out things that are floating, like viruses. We also use a monitoring system to understand what's in the air so we can eliminate particles.
